Biographical Information

Jamie Anderson grew up in South Lake Tahoe, at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains in California. She was the fifth child in a family of eight children, and it was her two older sisters, Joanie and Stacie, who introduced her to snowboarding and inspired her passion for the sport. Jamie fell in love with snowboarding and competed in her first events aged 9 after convincing her mother that she was old enough.

At age 13, she competed in her first X Games and within four years, Anderson was a back-to-back X Games slopestyle champion. Her 21 X Games medals from 2006 to 2022 made her the most decorated woman in X Games history.

At the Olympic Winter Games Sochi 2014, Anderson became the inaugural women’s Olympic slopestyle gold medalist. She defended her Olympic titles four years later and added a silver medal at the inaugural women’s big air event.

After competing in her third Olympics (Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022), Anderson gave birth to two daughters, Misty in 2023 and Nova in 2025. When she returned to competition after a three-year hiatus, Anderson's goal is that her oldest daughter will enjoy watching her mom: “I want to see her watching mom go do what I love and lead by example of following your heart. When you feel inspired, go with it.”
