Son of Davis Phinney and Connie Carpenter-Phinney...Has a younger sister, Kelsey...Lived in Italy for three years as a teenager while his parents ran a European bike touring company...Speaks Italian...Mother, Connie, was the first women’s cyclist to win an Olympic gold medal, winning the first Olympic cycling event for women in the 1984 road race...Previously, his mother also represented Team USA at the 1972 Olympic Winter Games in speedskating...Father, Davis, won a bronze medal in the team time trial at the 1984 Olympic Games and was also a Tour de France stage winner...Interests include dancing, eating, playing video games and doing flips on the trampoline.
