- Played varsity soccer, basketball and lacrosse at Ethel Walker School (Simsburgy, Connecticut)
- Played varsity lacrosse at NCAA Division I Howard University for three years
- Endured a car accident in March 2015 due to ice on the road
- Injuries included a concussion, a partially fractured nose, two dead arteries that went down to my left foot, nerve damage to the lower part of my left leg and a broken leg
- Was in the hospial for seven weeks and had eight surgeries in total, including a left leg amputation
- Attended her first-ever sitting volleyball camp in 2016 and earned a spot on the Women's Sitting Volleyball National Team in 2019
- Howard University's athletic department created an award in her honor, the Sydney Satchell Award for Perseverance
- Hobbies include watching tennis, women’s & college basketball and softball on tv. Also enjoys trying new restaurants, serving in my local church and binge watching detective/law shows and movies
