In 2010, Bolen was named to the first ever U.S. Paralympics High School All-American Track & Field Team. In addition, she was named as the Girls Track Athlete of the Year. She currently holds the American record for the 100m and 200m events (T35).
Sydney Bolen began competing in track at the young age of five, with a local program in Baltimore – the Bennett Blazers. At the age of 15, Bolen is the youngest athlete to be representing the United States at the 2011 IPC World Championships in Christchurch, New Zealand. At world championships, she will be competing in the 100m (T35) as well as the 200m (T35).
While not overlooking the opportunity to compete at world championships, Bolen also has her sights set on being part of Team USA for the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. She said, “Making the team means that I get to go to new places and experience new things while representing the United States.”

Bolen is currently attending Westminster Academy. For the future, Bolen hopes to compete in London as well as to be a positive role model to others.
