  • A multi-sport standout for the Houston High School Hilltoppers, Vance was injured during a football game on April 1, 2009. Fifteen days later, his leg was amputated above the knee. With help from a Jackson, Miss. orthotics and prosthetics outfit, Vance learend to run again
  • After crushing the competition at the 2010 Endeavor Games in Edmond, Okla., Vance qualified for the U.S. Paralympics Track and Field Resident Team and moved to Chula Vista, Calif
  • Trains under the tutelage of sprints coach Joaquim Cruz, the 1984 800-meter Olympic gold medalist from Brazil.
