Scott Stokes has been an athlete his entire life. Prior to suffering a spinal cord injury in 1998, his athletic ventures included wrestling, baseball and football. So, it was no surprise that just 6 months after breaking his neck, he was already involved in Paralympic sports.
Stokes has narrowed his focus to the sport of track & field in hopes of excelling at the international level. Stokes will be making his Team USA debut at the 2011 IPC Athletics World Championships, competing in the 100m and 200m events. He finished fourth in the men’s 100m with a time of 26.29.
Stokes has his sights set on competing for Team USA at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.
