Athletic Background: At Cooperstown High School, ran cross country and track and swam on the boy's swim team, as the school didn't have a girl's team at the time • Transferred to Deerfield Academy as a junior and competed on the cross country and swimming teams, earning All-New England Prep honors • At Division III Middlebury College, swam for four years as a freestyler and earned All-NESCAC and All-America honors
