    Ryan Sweeney started in bobsled on junior sleds from start four on the Mount Van Hoevenberg bobsled track as part of his high school's bobsled club.  In November 2009, Sweeney tried skeleton for the first time and was hooked.  He holds a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science from Castleton State College.
