Biographical Information
Robert Burns is an American snowboarder specializing in parallel giant slalom. Born in Mount Shasta, California, he started snowboarding at the age of 10, developing his skills on the local slopes. After graduating from the University of Idaho in 2012, Burns pursued competitive snowboarding, making his world cup debut in 2019.
At the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, Burns represented Team USA in the Parallel Giant Slalom event, finishing 31st. Beyond his athletic career, he serves as a hotshot wildland firefighter during the summer months as a part of the Shasta Lake Hotshots, demonstrating his commitment to community service and resilience. Off the slopes, Burns has a passion for baking and enjoys making cinnamon rolls and chocolate chip cookies.
