• Boyt took up swimming in 2005 at age nine with Team Vortex Swimming team in Fort Collins, Colorado. She holds two Parapan American records, having made her senior international debut in 2008. She was named Colorado Swimming’s 2009 Disabled Swimmer of the Year. Boyt is a two-time Parapan American gold medalist, with two silvers and a bronze medal

• Hobbies include hiking, camping, reading, eating sushi and playing the ukulele
