Q&A WITH MIKLOVIC
What does it mean for you to represent the United States? "It is a great honor to represent my country. It has been my dream since I began playing softball."
What was your first memory of USA Softball/Olympics? "My first memory I have of Team USA was playing against the Junior Men's Team in Midland, Mich. and the following year I watched them compete in the WBSC Junior Men's Softball World Championship in Midland."
What do you most enjoy about softball? "The fast pace of the game and the relationships between teammates make the game exciting and enjoyable."
How did you get started playing softball? "My dad encouraged me to try the sport while I was still playing baseball. I came to love softball as much as I love baseball."
Who were your softball role models growing up? "My dad, grandpa, great grandpa and Delbert Benson. Each of them has a long history playing fast pitch and has helped me become the player I am today."
Did you play any other sports growing up? "Baseball and basketball"
What non-softball sport would you like to try? "Football"
What is the best piece of advice you ever received? "Play loose and have fun."
What's your personal motto? "Treat others with the respect they deserve."
