Biographical Information
Marley Soldan grew up in Tacoma, Washington, and at age 5, she started roller skating and competed in inline skating for 6 years, then switched to speedskating on ice. Soldan's junior career included being a two-time junior world medalist and at age 17 representing Team USA at the Youth Winter Olympic Games Gangwon 2024
Soldan created the first functional prosthetic speedskate, drawing on her background as a speedskater and experience in biomedical engineering, and hopes to bring speedskating to the Winter Paralympics one day. The prosthetic speedskate would enable the athlete to fully realize ankle flexion, setting a new standard for performance and inclusivity in the Winter Paralympics.
Soldan plans to attend Harvard University starting in the fall of 2026, after taking a gap year during which she made the U.S. national team and made her ISU World Cup debut.
In her freetime, when she is not designing or tinkering with various projects, Soldan enjoys reading, fostering kittens, hiking and baking.
