Mark Dunford

    Athlete Bio

    47 years-old, married with a 9 year old daughter. Wife's name is Nadia, daughter's name is Taylor.  I served in the US Army as an Army Ranger and in the Special Forces. In 1986, I was injured while on duty in Fort Bragg, North Carolina; I suffered a spinal cord injury resulting in incomplete paraplegia.
     
    I have particiapted competitively in wheelchair basketball, tennis, sled hockey and alpine skiing. I am also a certified level 1 adaptive alpine instructor and enjoy handcycling. I only started kayaking this year and Paddleability 2009 in Halifax will be my first competitive event.

    I currently live in Orchard Park, NY and have a solo legal practice with the majority of my practice being in the area of real estate and family law. I also devote a considerable amount of time volunteering with not-for-profit organizations.
