• Shocked the world when he ran 44.57 seconds to win the 2005 NCAA indoor 400-meter title, breaking Michael Johnson’s world record of 44.63 (1995)
• In 2007, at just 22 years of age, ranked No. 1 in the world by Track & Field News.
