It's Every Day
Kauth lost her father in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center. Just a few days prior to the attacks, Kauth's father, Don, was ecstatic that his daughter made the pre-Olympic cut for the 2002 Olympics. Kauth said that he always believed in her, whether it was her abilities in sports or in academics. "He always said, ‘As long as you're prepared and doing everything you can, go and have fun on game day or test day and relax.' He instilled that entire mentality into me," she told Plain Dealer Reporter.
