Jen competed in rugby at Oxford before concentrating on rowing. Jen lists winning the Student vs. Teachers race in fifth grade as her most memorable sporting achievement. She graduated with master's degree in chemistry from the University of Oxford. Jen lists her mother as her personal hero and her best friend, Rebecca Romero, as the most influential person in her sporting career and life. Jen raced for the British National Team in 2005 and 2006.
