Quick Facts
Biographical Information
Jeffrey Louis was born and raised in Houston, Texas, the son of Haitian immigrants. His two older brothers, Pierry and Kenny, taught him breaking when he was in middle school, and he quickly earned the B-boy name “Bboy Jeffro” thanks to his “fro” at the time.
When the sport of breaking was first included in the Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018, Louis wrote an email to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to encourage them to add breaking to future Olympics. Even though the IOC never wrote back to his letter, Louis did get his wish when, a year later, breaking was added to program of the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
In the lead-up to the Paris Games, Louis would win multiple silver medals for Team USA at the IWGA World Games Birmingham 2022 and Pan American Games Santiago 2023. Louis made his Olympic debut at the Paris Games, reaching the quarterfinals before being eliminated.
Louis is also active with Houston reVision, a faith-based nonprofit that has been using weekly breaking sessions to build community and mentor kids for decades. Louis has been active in the organization since he was a teenager, first improving his breaking moves there, and now gives back as an Olympian and through offering FitBreak (a fitness system that he created that combines breaking with fitness exercises) classes over Zoom to the kids currently involved with Houston reVision.
