Biographical Information
J.T. Miller was born in East Palestine, Ohio, where he and his brother Matt skated in a 30-by-18 foot rink their dad built in their backyard before school. Miller moved to Pittsburgh around age 10, where he played youth hockey with future NHL teammate and Team USA teammate Vincent Trocheck.
Miller would be drafted in the first round by the New York Rangers in the 2015 NHL Draft. Throughout his NHL career, he has been traded three times, and after making his first All-Star appearance in 2024, Miller was traded back to the Rangers in 2025. Before the 2025-26 season, Miller would be named the 29th captain in team history.
Miller had a successful junior career with the U.S. men's hockey team, winning a gold medal at the U17, U18, and U20 IIHF World Championships. He would make his first senior U.S. national team for the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off Tournament.
