Biographical Information

Hunter Powell grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado, where he played multiple sports in high school, competing in cross country, wrestling and track and field. Powell finished his college career at his hometown school, Colorado State University, where he was the conference champion in indoor heptathlon and outdoor decathlon in 2019. 

Powell competed in track and field through the 2024 season, when he made the switch to bobsled, recruited by monobob world champion Kaysha Love. By the end of his rookie season, Powell would compete at the 2025 IBSF World Championships for Team USA in both the two-man and four-man Bobsled, finishing in the top 10 in both events.
