- Played collegiate hockey for Clarkson University, leaving after three seasons to play minor league hockey in Cincinnati

Cole currently plays for the Carolina Hurricanes. He is the only member of the Carolina squad who was chosen to represent the United States at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games.
