Eddie

Munro

Eddie Munro attended public and private schools until the seventh grade when he enrolled at the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind. There he became involved in sports and lettered in swimming, football, wrestling, goalball and track and field. He graduated Valedictorian of his class and is studying for a civil and environmental engineering degree. He is a father, husband, student, athlete and writer. A four-time Paralympian, Munro competed twice in the pentathlon before switching sports to compete in Goalball in 2004. 

Munro is a role model for other visually impaired people and prides himself on helping them become independent and reach for their dreams. A man of various talents, he also founded a judo club at FSDB that introduced dozens of visually impaired students to the sport, including Emannuel Brannon, who competed at the 2003 International Blind Sports Association World Judo Championships in Quebec City and the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece.
