    BIOGRAPHY
A native of New Jersey, Danny Kass began his ascent to becoming one of the most dominant snowboarders when he was 12 years old. Five US Open Championships, seven Winter X Games medals and two Olympic silver medals later, and Kass is still at it and making his bid for a third Olympic team.

    UPDATE
Kass kept the competition to a minimum in 2009, but he still managed to show the world he's still got it as he owned the pipe at the Burton US Open. Kass' win marked his fifth at the Open and foreshadowed what has the potential to be a great season for him in 2009.

    FIRST TRACKS
In fourth grade, Kass' family moved to Vernon, N.J., where the future Olympian was first introduced to riding by his brother. "My brother and his friends were who I started riding with," Kass said. "He always pushed me really hard and got me into competing with him." After years of riding with his brother, Kass honed his talent for freestyle after entering the Okemo Mountain School.
