Q&A WITH LEWIS
What does it mean for you to represent the United States? "Playing for Team USA has been a goal of mine for a long time and just being able to represent your country on the national scale is the dream of any athlete."
What was your first memory of USA Softball? "My first memory was a pitching camp out in Chula Vista, California when I was in Junior High. We were at the Olympic Training Center and getting to see all of the facilities was pretty cool."
What do you most enjoy about softball? "I enjoy all the friendships that are made through the game and meeting new people every year."
How did you get started playing softball? "My dad got me started playing softball by taking me to watch his games when I was a babu and I have been hooked ever since."
Who were your softball role models growing up? "My softball role model was my dad because he pitched and I wanted to pitch just like him."
Did you play any other sports growing up? "I also played basketball and baseball growing up."
What non-softball sport would you like to try? "Raquetball"
What has been your proudest accomplishment? "My proudest accomplishment was when my basketball team made it to state because there was a big group of us who used to dream of playing at Mizzou Arena and it was really cool to finally achieve it."
What is the best piece of advice you ever received? "Always do your best and make the best out of every situation."
What's your personal motto? "Always do your best."
