A big, aggressive goalkeeper who commands the attention of opposing players when they enter into his area, Seitz earned his status as the top choice goalkeeper for the U-23s through hard work and leadership on the field. After a stellar performance at the 2007 U-20 World Cup, Seitz was rewarded with his first call up to the Men's National Team in September for its game against Brazil at Soldier Field in Chicago.

As the fourth overall draft pick by Real Salt Lake in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft, Seitz became the second-highest goalkeeper ever chosen, behind only Chivas USA's Brad Guzan, who was drafted at No. 2 in 2005.
Earned Man of the Match honors for his performance against Poland at the 2007 FIFA Under-20 World Cup, inspiring the team to a key draw in its opening fixture against South Korea.
