Biographical Information 

Carl Platt grew up in Deerfield, Illinois, and represented the United States at the junior world championships in three consecutive seasons (2022-24)

The following year, Platt was added to the U.S. national team in January 2025 and later that year placed third in mass start at the U.S. national speedskating championships. 

Off the ice, Platt is an Eagle Scout. For his Eagle Scout project, he led a group of volunteers in scanning historic US Speedskating documents for use in a future US Speedskating Hall of Fame.
