Biographical Information

Brad Hudspeth broke his spine when he was 15, diving into a shallow lake. Hudspeth said of the injury: “I broke my neck and I couldn’t walk anymore, but life rolls on. Never give up.”

Hudspeth continued to live by the motto of never giving up and he made his first U.S. national wheelchair rugby team in 2023 at age 34 after not making the final cut multiple times in his previous attempts. After finally making the team, Hudspeth said “I know what it’s like to fail.”

Hudspeth made his Paralympic debut at the Paralympic Games Paris 2024, winning a silver medal with the team.

Off the court, Hudspeth lives in Kansas with his wife, Nicki, and their four kids. Hudspeth is an avid sports fan, especially of the Kansas City Chiefs, his hometown team.
