For Wheelchair Fencer Ellen Geddes, The Trick Is Never Hearing The Word ‘No’

Williams graduated from Gwinnett Tech College in Lawrenceville, Ga., in 2001 with a degree in information systems. He currently works as a sound technician for Carter Hill Baptist Church and he is a part-time tax preparer during tax season.
Benjy Williams' first fencing competition was at a World Cup event in 2003. Facing fencers from Europe, China and many other countries, Williams got a taste of what international competition was all about and he was hooked. Williams returned home with a dream of making it to the world’s biggest competition stage – the Paralympic Games. In 2008, Williams made that dream come true, participating in the men's epee individual B and the men's saber individual B at the Games in Beijing.

On the night of February 10, 1996, Williams was injured in a car accident. He was thrown from the car through the windshield and the impact broke his back.
