Ben is a 1996 Olympian and world-class, expert whitewater kayaker and ACA whitewater instructor. Ben has competed internationally on the Whitewater Slalom World Cup circuit and at the 1995 through 2003 World Championships representing Guatemala. Ben started paddling in the USA as a junior and is currently immersed in paddlesports industry through his involvement with the Red River Racing Club and the Power Olympic Outdoor Center in Texas. Along with his fellow National Team member and wife Michelle, Ben runs a non-profit paddling school and also partakes in the Team River Runner program, which teaches returning Iraq and Afghanistan veterans how to paddle as part of their physical therapy.
