Austin Landis was born in Hamilton, Mont. on Sunday, July 21, 1991. The native of Corvallis, Mont. participated in football, soccer, basketball and track and field while in high school. Upon graduation, he attended Belmont University, where he was a member of the Track and Field team. Landis obtained his degree in management information systems.
Landis was first introduced to the sport of bobsled by his father, Mike Maniscalco.
FUN FACTS
- He gained 40 pounds in a semester.
- He had a football injury in ninth grade that almost ended his athletic career.
- He could eat sushi everyday.
