Biographical Information
Alec Sklutovsky started speedskating at Danbury Speedskating Club, where his mom, Elena, a former member of the Ukrainian National Speedskating team, coached him and other speedskaters, including Clayton DeClemente, who, like Alec, would become a future U.S. national team member.
Sklutovsky started in short track where he was sixth overall at the 2022 U.S. Olympic Team Trials. After being a member of the short track speedskating team from 2022-24, Sklutovsky switched to long track speedskating and made his World Cup debut to begin the 2025-26 season in the 500m.
When he is not training, his hobbies include reading, hiking and cooking.
