Closing Ceremony at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026
Hilary Knight and Evan Bates have been chosen by a vote of fellow Team USA athletes through a process led by the Team USA Athletes’ Commission, which serves as the representative group and voice of Team USA athletes. They are the first winter duo to share the honor of leading the delegation into the Closing Ceremony, which serves as the official close to the Olympic Winter Games.

Athlete Profile- Knight becomes only the fourth ice hockey athlete to lead Team USA into an Opening or Closing Ceremony, joining legends Clarence Abel, Cammi Granato and Julie Chu to hold the honor.

Athlete Profile- Bates becomes the first U.S. figure skater to carry the flag into an Olympic Opening or Closing Ceremony since Scott Hamilton in 1980, also joining Tim Wood who held the closing honor in 1968.

The end of the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 is approaching, with the Closing Ceremony bringing the curtain down on the 25th edition of the Winter Olympics. The grand finale will pay tribute to all participants and honor the achievements and connections forged throughout the Games.
The historic Verona Olympic Arena will host the spectacle with a range of performers set to light up the stage.
The Olympic Closing Ceremony will be broadcasted live at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC and will be shown again on NBC at 11:30 p.m. ET later that evening.
The Closing Ceremony for Milano Cortina 2026 is scheduled to take place live at 2:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026 at the Verona Olympic Arena in Verona, Italy.
