Lausanne 2020 Youth Olympic Games

The Winter Youth Olympic Games are an elite, international multi-sport event for athletes between the ages of 15 to 18. Following the example of the Summer Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018, Lausanne 2020 is projected to be the second Olympic event that achieves full gender equality with 940 women and 940 men expected to compete in 16 sport disciplines, including the debut of ski mountaineering and women’s Nordic combined.

The 14-day competition will be staged across two waves and feature 81 sporting events, including mixed-gender and mixed-NOC events.

Keeping in tradition with past Youth Olympic Games, the young participants will also have the opportunity to take part in a unique Learn & Share program, which will focus on themes ranging from Olympism and the Olympic values, to skill development and healthy living.
