George Foreman made his name both in the
boxing ring and as a successful entrepreneur. Born in Marshall, Texas, Foreman dropped out of high school and joined President Lyndon B. Johnson’s Jobs Corps work program. He discovered his talent for Boxing and had little experience when he took home the gold medal at the Olympic Games Mexico City 1968. Foreman also became a heavyweight Boxing champion in 1973. He decided to retire from the sport in 1977 following several losses to become an ordained minister and found a youth center, but made a comeback to the sport 10 years later at the age of 38 years old. At age 45, Foreman became the oldest heavyweight champion in Boxing when he defeated his 26-year-old opponent. Foreman finished his Boxing career with a record of 76-5, with 68 of the wins by knockout. Foreman became highly successful outside of the ring as an entrepreneur and commercial spokesperson for a number of products, most notably the George Foreman Grill.
