The 1984 U.S. Olympic Men’s Gymnastics Team became the first U.S. men’s squad to win an Olympic team gold medal at the Olympic Games Los Angeles 1984. Comprised of Bart Conner, Tim Daggett, Mitch Gaylord, Jim Hartung, Scott Johnson, Peter Vidmar and Jim Mikus (alternate), the team performed almost flawlessly on their way to victory. Vidmar was the highest scoring member of the team, collecting the gold medal on the pommel horse and silver in the individual all-around, becoming the first American male gymnast to secure an all-around medal at an Olympic Games. Gaylord became the first American to attain a perfect 10 at the Games, and he brought home silver on the vault and the bronze medal in both the rings and parallel bars. Daggett scored a perfect 10 on high bar later in the competition and won bronze on the pommel horse. And Connor won gold in the parallel bars.
