Zayne Hammoudeh grew up in Green, Ohio, and first started playing sled hockey at age seven. After playing both Sled Hockey and wheelchair basketball through Adaptive Sports Ohio, he was encouraged by the organization's CEO, Lisa Followay, to try wheelchair rugby.

As a sophomore in high school, Hammoudeh would make his first U.S. national wheelchair rugby team training roster. Hammoudeh balances training with the national team with wheelchair basketball, where he is an all-state player at his high school.

In addition to excelling at multiple adaptive sports, Hammoudeh has testified in front of the Ohio legislature to advocate for the passing of bills that help fund Adaptive Sports programs across the state.
