Biographical Information

Velton Brown, Jr. grew up in Orlando, Florida, and played varsity football at Lake Nona High School. After high school graduation, he joined the amateur outdoor football team Orlando Phantoms for three seasons as a wide receiver and return specialist.

After the 2018 season, Brown decided to try flag football on the advice of a mentor. Five years later, Brown was on the U.S. national team and won gold at the 2024 IFAF World Championships as the U.S. won its fifth consecutive world title.

Brown wears No. 13 as a symbol of his style, citing the movie Friday the 13th and his own finishing mentality.
