Biographical Information
Okikola “Kiki” Iriafen grew up in Los Angeles, the oldest daughter of Nigerian American parents. Her full name, “Okikiola,” means “fame that brings prosperity or wealth” in the Yoruba language. Iriafen rose to fame herself in high school for her skills on the basketball court, earning McDonald’s All-American honors to cap off her prep career.
Iriafen attended Stanford University, where she was an all-conference player before finishing her college career back in her hometown of Los Angeles at the University of Southern California.
Iriafen was the fourth overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft by the Washington Mystics. Iriafen and her entire family were all dressed in traditional Nigerian attire on the night of the WNBA Draft. She credits her Nigerian mindset with helping her achieve her professional goals, stating “I've never heard of a Nigerian that's like, woe is me or, oh, I can't do it. … I think it's definitely made me who I am, especially this idea of whatever you put your mind to, you can do it."
Iriafen began her WNBA career by being named to the All-Star team in consecutive seasons and was named to the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup team.
Off the court, Kiki Iriafen graduated with a degree in design engineering from Stanford and a master’s degree in entrepreneurship and innovation from USC.
