Son of Phuong and Thien...Has one sister, Michelle...Served in the U.S. Army Infantry as a Staff Sergeant...Was deployed to Afghanistan in 2012, where his right foot was severely injured after an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated...Coached the Paralympic Division of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit and returned to service after his injury...Is a soldier-athlete in the U.S. Army World-Class Athlete Program (WCAP)...Trains in Fort Benning, Georgia...Hobbies include skydiving and rock climbing...Nguyen got his start in shooting sports after enlisting in the Army in 2011 and deploying to southern Afghanistan in 2012...During his tenure he was assigned to 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment and Comanche Company 1st Platoon.
