Biographical Information

Darrell Doucette III grew up in New Orleans where his favorite sport was bowling. In addition to bowling, Doucette also played flag football and ran track & field.

Doucette and his family were displaced from New Orleans in 2005 following the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. He finished high school in Atlanta before returning home to New Orleans in 2007 to attend college at Xavier University, where he played intramural flag football.

In 2018, Doucette led his flag football team Fighting Cancer to the $1 million prize in the American Flag Football (AFFL) Ultimate final. Competing in the championship against a team with former NFL players like Seneca Wallace and Jahvid Best, Doucette was given the MVP honors.

In 2021, Doucette joined the U.S. national team and won a gold medal later that year at the 2021 IFAF World Championships. Five years later, Doucette was a triple threat for Team USA's offense – throwing, catching and running the football – and was named the IFAF Flag Football World Championship MVP after scoring four touchdowns in the gold-medal game win over Italy, which clinched the U.S. its sixth consecutive world title, in which he had played in half of them.

Off the field, Doucette started his own clothing brand, H7 Athletics, and is active in expanding youth flag football leagues to help more kids enter the sport.
