Ashton Salwan is a U.S. freestyle aerials skier from Chagrin Falls, Ohio, competing internationally on the FIS World Cup circuit. His path into aerials began at age 10, when he started building air awareness by practicing flips into a small front-yard pond in nearby Chesterland, Ohio.
At 15, Salwan moved to Park City, Utah, to train year-round and pursue freestyle aerials at the highest level. Training at Utah Olympic Park, he continued his progression through the U.S. aerials pipeline and went on to represent the United States at the FIS Junior World Championships in 2023 and 2024.
Salwan was named to the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team ahead of the 2025–26 FIS World Cup season. That season, he recorded multiple top-15 individual world cup finishes, earned top-10 results in both China and Canada, helped Team USA reach the mixed team aerials podium at Secret Garden, and finished 16th in the men’s aerials FIS World Cup overall standings.
Salwan's year-round training reflects the demands of elite aerial skiing: on-snow jump sessions, hours in the gym building strength and power, trampoline and air-awareness work, and countless water-ramp repetitions designed to refine takeoff, body position, and landing mechanics before transferring skills to snow.
