Rachel Garcia built her name as one of the most accomplished players in collegiate softball and looks to continue that dominance at the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028.
The former University of California, Los Angeles, star most notably won silver with Team USA at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. Garcia, 29, also helped lead the Bruins to an NCAA Division I softball national championship in 2019, earned multiple national player of the year honors and has served in multiple coaching roles within collegiate programs.
Just getting that taste was like you want more. So just waiting, waiting out that last Olympics was was tough. But I think it now being back and for the LA Olympics, it's like there's that dream again for that that youth and hoping that they can also one day be an Olympian as well.
I just loved the aspect of always wanting to learn, and I think being able to help that younger generation and just inspire them. And hopefully with whatever I've learned from my process – to how I've started and to where I am now – I'm able to give that info to them and just inspire.
I hope to make them proud just by representing and knowing that I could that I am a Hispanic American and being able to represent at this level, and just hopefully inspire those that want to do.
